Hope for the future

This is an old picture of the last time I moved hives off my property to another place. I just couldn't imagine a summer without bees, so I am going to try it again. I have reserved two nucs from Mary Bouma with overwintered queens for spring. I will likely put one horizontal hive and one vertical hive on a friend's property in Bloomingdale. I am hoping that since I do travel to Bloomingdale about once a month, this location will be better than out in Hickory Corners where I tried it the last time. The homeowner has a large tract of property, which hopefully is not adjacent to anything that is attractive to commercial beekeepers. Wish me luck!
