I checked my new swarm hive on August 5, 2024. I didn't want to disturb it too much, but I did pull this one frame just to see how things are going. This was a welcome sight, a good pattern of capped worker brood. I had found the queen on my first inspection, but it is good to know she is actually doing her job.

The bees are covering approximately twice as many frames as when I checked three weeks ago, so that is also a good sign. There isn't a lot of capped honey that I can see from just looking like this. I am not very concerned about that. I have several frames of old honey I can put in the hive if I feel they need it before winter. The progress they have made in the last three weeks makes me confident they can build up sufficiently to overwinter.
